However, fresh seafood, apart from being very seasonal, has limited shelf-life and is prone to spoilage due to salmonella, E. coli and Listeria breakouts. Frozen seafood, on the other hand, has a considerably more prolonged shelf-life, but does not taste as good because of the processes of freezing and thawing.
